A Journey Across Miles

Alok and Vidya’s story began in January 2023 when they connected on a matrimonial app. Interestingly, despite the app's usual 100-mile radius, Vidya was 3,000 miles away! Their first video call set the tone for what was to come—Alok felt an instant connection, but Vidya wasn’t convinced just yet. He persisted, reaching out again in March and June, only to be met with another polite rejection.

Alok, knowing deep down that there was something special between them, decided to take a step back while still keeping the connection alive in subtle ways. Meanwhile, Vidya found herself thinking about Alok more than ever. Just when she gathered the courage to reach out, fate intervened—on the very same day, Alok messaged her, rekindling what was always meant to be.

November 2023, marked a significant moment—the day they finally met in person. Alok flew from San Diego to Philadelphia, and over a sushi dinner at Tuna Bar, their love story truly began. From that moment, sushi became their little tradition, a reminder of where it all started.

A Love That Grew Stronger

Despite living in different cities and Alok’s frequent travels, their bond only strengthened through long FaceTime calls that lasted longer than multiple movies combined. They cherished every opportunity to meet, making it a point to revisit the places that held meaning for them—like Green Cats Cafe, another special spot in their love story.

Vidya knew she had found her person, and in a beautiful, heartfelt moment, she went down on one knee and proposed to Alok. The love between them was mutual, and every step they took towards the wedding only deepened their connection.

Hosted at The Royal Palms by Sanghis at ECR, Chennai, the venue provided the perfect blend of elegance and tradition. The decor, beautifully designed by LK Decor, transformed the space into a dreamy paradise, with every element meticulously planned to bring their vision to life.

One of the most breathtaking aspects of the wedding was the wall of a thousand paper cranes that Vidya lovingly created. Inspired by the Japanese tradition, the thousand cranes symbolize love, luck, and longevity—making it an incredibly meaningful addition to their celebration.

Vidya describes their wedding as a dream come true—filled with love, laughter, and moments she wouldn’t change for anything. In her words, “Today, I feel extremely, extremely happy. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And I’m just so happy that it’s Alok.”
